The Internet is not yet completely reliable in the transmission of Windows Media Player streaming audio. This means that you may sometimes have reception of our transmission drop out during a broadcast event. At the current state of the Internet, this is not that unusual. We find Windows Media Player to more reliable than the media we used previously. However, there remain times when we experience technical difficulty. When you are unable to connect at all during a broadcast, it could be a problem at our end. In this case, we would be working on solving the problem. Sometimes, this has taken up to a half-hour to fix. Your patience during this time is appreciated.
To listen to the recordings or broadcasts, you will need Windows Media Player installed on your computer. To download Windows Media Player, click on this link to go to the Microsoft Windows Media Player download page.
As with all programs and plug-ins, Windows Media Player and/or web browsers can freeze or crash your computer. This should not happen on a regular basis. When using a demanding application, like a streaming player, try not to have other programs running that might be using system resources. Sometimes reloading Windows Media Player can fix corruption caused by Windows. It may help to use a recent version of Windows Media Player. If it seems that Windows Media Player is causing continual problems, you may visit the Windows Media Player support page.
Also, be sure that under Tools / Options / Player: Automatic Updates, you have checked "Download codecs automatically"
On rare occasions, the problem may be at your end. Here are a few suggestions on things to try on a PC running Microsoft Windows. We suggest that you check the telephone line/modem connections on your computer. Sometimes using a different telephone jack and a wire with good connectors can make a significant difference. If you experience buffering or net congestion, sometimes by just clicking the stop button on Windows Media Player and then clicking the start button, you can reconnect in a different way that may be better. Then make your attunement and ask Archangel Michael for assistance.
It is also very important to perform regular maintenance on your computer. This includes a thorough "ScanDisk" with the "automatically fix errors" box checked, and "Disk Defragmenter" with the same option checked (both of these are available via: Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > ScanDisk or Disk Defragmenter). After performing this maintenance (which may take a few hours), restart your computer for best performance.

Why We Provide Multiple Links to the Broadcasts
We provide multiple links to our broadcasts so that you can choose the data rate that gives you the best quality sound under your reception conditions. There is no difference in content in the links, only different data rates. Start by listening to the Low Speed connection. If that operates well without problems, then try a faster connection. The ideal is to use the fastest connection that gives you a reliable connection without pauses (called "buffering").
How to Increase the Volume and
How to Avoid Hearing White Noise or "Hiss"
If you double click the speaker icon at the bottom right of the screen, the Play Control dialog box will open. Next, start Windows Media Player on a music broadcast so you can hear what the controls do. Two of the controls will change the volume. The far left slider control called Play Control will be the main volume control for listening to Windows Media Player. The Mute all check box should be cleared (unchecked). Move the Play Control slider all the way to top.
One of the remaining sliders will be labeled Wave/Direct Source. Adjust this slider so that the moving bar volume indicator next to the Play Control slider turns light green. Then adjust the horizontal slider next to the speaker icon on the Windows Media Player. This should allow ample volume to your external amplifier and speakers. The external amplifier volume that controls the speakers should need to be no higher than the 12 o'clock position.
In most cases, this will solve the problem. If you still hear hiss or white noise, then make sure that all the other sliders (except the two just mentioned) have a check in the Mute check box. This will shut off extraneous input. This is a last resort, since you most likely will have to uncheck the boxes you just checked in this step in order to use the other audio functions on your PC.
A Possible Error Message
If you get the following error message: "The content cannot be streamed because all protocols have been disabled. Protocols are required to receive streaming media. Be sure Windows Media Player is configured to use all of its supported protocols."
You need to configure the protocol settings on your Windows Media Player:
These check boxes affect only Microsoft Media Server (MMS) connections. They do not affect HTTP connections.
How to Stop the "Click" Sound on a Page Update.
In Microsoft Windows there is a default setting that causes an audible "click" whenever a page is updated. This can be changed by carefully following these directions. The directions require familiarity with the Windows Graphic User Interface (GUI) terminology. Please get assistance from a knowledgeable person if you need it.
